How does farming look in your part of the world?

I took these photos yesterday morning while heading to college. I was standing by the riverbank waiting for the boat to cross when I saw this farmer. In my region, using a pair of water buffalo to "puddle" the soil is still a very common way to prepare for rice planting.

I always find it a beautiful contrast — I'm on my way to a modern classroom, yet right beside me, a tradition that is centuries old is still going strong.
